The UK is currently experiencing a cost of living crisis that is having a profound impact on individuals, families and businesses alike. The infographic below, shared by Keith Prance from Rehab Recovery, will explore the causes of the crisis, its effects on the population and how it can be addressed.

Hearing about the crisis on the news everyday and experiencing rising costs to our bills and food can be really stressful, especially if you're already struggling to keep on top of things. Many people are anxious and worried about the financial increases we are seeing, you are not alone and there is help out there. Take a look at our useful resources page if you feel you need to talk to someone.

As well as effects on many people's mental health, the cost of living crisis is preventing almost three quarters (73%) of women living with (and having financial links with) their abuser from leaving (Women's Aid).

Do they face continuing to live with an abusive partner/family member or do they face financial destitution or homelessness? Financial abuse was already one of the main ways abusers control their victims - but that problem has now been exacerbated by this crisis, leaving victims with very little or no financial freedom at all.

The infographic draws on research and data from official government sources, as well as from independent studies and reports from think tanks and advocacy groups.
